Job Title: State Park Interpreter I

Job Summary:

The State Park Interpreter I conducts interpretive programs and community engagement within and around Candlestick Point State Recreation Area. This position will work with established community-based organizations and non-profit groups to conduct outreach and to engage local community members in the creation of culturally relevant, interpretive, and environmental programming that integrates both assets and experiences of the audience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct interpretive programs and community engagement within and around Candlestick Point State Recreation Area.
  • Work with established community-based organizations and non-profit groups to conduct outreach and engage local community members in the creation of culturally relevant, interpretive, and environmental programming.
  • Assist the Bay Area District, Northern Service Center, and headquarters staff on special interpretive and site development projects.
  • Work some nights and weekends.

Requirements:

  • Valid Class C driver's license.
  • Background investigation process utilizing Live Scan fingerprinting prior to appointment.
  • Not telework eligible.

Working Conditions:

Work will be performed both indoors in an office environment at a computer workstation and outside with groups in the park in all types of weather conditions.

Special Requirements:

  • Valid California Drivers License (CDL).
  • Background Investigation cleared prior to being hired.
