Position Overview
The Parking Enforcement Officer plays a crucial role in maintaining the order and efficiency of parking services. Reporting to the Parking Sergeant or designated supervisor, this position involves overseeing various parking operations to ensure compliance with established regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular patrols of the designated area on foot, bicycle, or vehicle to enforce parking rules.
- Independently issue parking citations and respond to service requests as needed.
- Collaborate with other staff during special events to ensure effective parking management.
- Be available to work during weekends, nights, and holidays as required for special events or emergencies.
Work Schedule
This is a full-time position with a standard schedule of four 10-hour shifts per week. Flexibility in hours may be necessary based on operational demands.
Department Overview
The Parking & Transportation Services department is dedicated to providing comprehensive support for parking management and transportation alternatives within the campus community. The team is responsible for managing permits, citation appeals, and coordinating special events that require parking and traffic control.
Qualifications
To qualify for this position, candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent, along with a valid California Driver's License. Previous experience in customer service and knowledge of parking enforcement practices are preferred.
Physical Requirements
The role requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, as well as the capacity to walk, stand, and bend for extended periods. Candidates should be prepared for exposure to outdoor conditions and various environmental factors.
