Medical Accounts Receivable Specialist

Orthopedic Associates of Hartford, P.C. is seeking a highly skilled Medical Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our Billing & Collections team in our Farmington business office.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Follow established policies and procedures to ensure timely and accurate resolution of outstanding claims and denials.
  • Work closely with commercial and governmental payors to resolve denials and underpayments.
  • Participate in the collection and documentation of claims processing rules.
  • Generate electronic and hard copy claims for submission.
  • Interact and communicate effectively with interdepartmental units and external stakeholders.
Requirements:
  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Two years recent experience in medical collections and/or medical billing with result-oriented debt collections skills.
  • Familiarity with ICD-10 coding and Federal HIPAA regulations.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Epic, electronic billing, Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Knowledge of insurance claim processing and third-party reimbursement.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a professional and courteous telephone manner.
