The Sherwin-Williams Company's Assistant Manager Trainee Program is an accelerated, entry-level opportunity designed to prepare current team members for a Store Management position within 18-24 months. Embracing the company's internal promotion philosophy, individuals have the chance to advance into an Assistant Store Manager role after a successful culmination of a 6-8-week training. The schedule for this role typically consists of 44 hours per week, which might involve evenings and weekends as well.

Throughout the program, you'll collaborate with store management to oversee a million-dollar business, offering guidance and insights into the store's development and strategies. Over the program's duration, you will grasp all facets of operations, clientele, and internal strategies, gaining a comprehensive understanding of your pivotal role in the team's success.

You will expand the company's market share by catering to large commercial clients such as painting contractors, purchasing agents, manufacturers, and other business entities requiring substantial quantities of our top-notch products. Our training regimen equips you with all the essential skills needed for a flourishing career in management and professional sales. Main Responsibilities:

  • Support business strategies to boost sales and enhance profitability
  • Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction through exceptional service
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures encompassing safety measures and loss prevention
  • Maintain an exceptional store appearance and adhere to visual merchandising standards
  • Backing employee training, growth, performance evaluation, and necessary corrective actions
  • Resolve customer and/or staff issues efficiently and effectively

Requirements:

  • Must be at least eighteen (18) years old
  • Must be legally entitled to work in the host country without requiring sponsorship for work visa permits
  • Must possess a valid, unrestricted Driver's License
  • Must hold a minimum of a High School diploma or GED
  • Capable of lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs. frequently and up to 70 lbs. occasionally
  • If an internal candidate, must have attained at least a 'meets expectations' rating on the latest performance evaluation
  • If internal to The Sherwin-Williams Company, completion of all HR Cloud eLearning courses pertinent to the current role is mandatory

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum one (1) year experience in retail, sales, or customer service
  • At least one (1) year of experience in leadership roles, supervision, or team management
  • Prior background in selling paint and related products
  • Familiarity with timekeeping and customer relationship management systems
  • Associate degree or higher in business, sales, or marketing
  • Previous involvement in a team-oriented environment, whether through work experience, extracurricular activities, or military service
  • Willingness to relocate for potential career advancements
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, understanding, and communicating in multiple languages
  • Ability to communicate effectively in Spanish
