About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Staff Psychologist to join our team at Duke University. As a key member of our Clinical Services department, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality mental health services to our students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Clinical Services: Offer individual, couples, and group counseling to Duke students, as well as participate in mental health triage services.
  • Supervise Trainees: Provide supervision and seminars to assigned trainees in accordance with training policy and procedures.
  • Engage with the Campus Community: Provide campus and community engagement services through outreach, liaison relationships with faculty, staff, parents, alumni, and students.
  • Develop and Implement Interventions: Develop and implement campus and community level interventions that address salient mental health topics.
Requirements
  • Education: Must have a completed doctoral degree in the psychology field from an APA-accredited program.
  • Licensure: Must be eligible for full licensure as a Practicing Psychologist as defined by the North Carolina State Board of Examiners of Practicing Psychologists.
  • Experience: Must have completed an APA-accredited psychology internship and have a minimum of two years of appropriate supervised experience, as defined by the N.C. State Board, after the receipt of a doctoral degree.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience Working with Diverse Populations: Demonstrates experience working with international communities, including individuals from Asian, South Asian, Latinx, and Middle Eastern/North African countries.
  • Bilingual Language Skills: Bilingual language skills are strongly preferred.
Additional Job-Specific Skills and Competencies
  • Interpersonal Skills: Demonstrates effective interpersonal skills that facilitate students' wellbeing and organizational health.
  • Crisis Intervention: Experience with crisis intervention and consultation is essential.
