About the Role

Duke University is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Staff Psychologist to join our team. As a key member of our mental health services, you will provide clinical services, supervise interns, and engage with the campus community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individual, couples, and group counseling to Duke students
  • Participate in mental health triage services
  • Administer and interpret limited assessment measures as appropriate
  • Respond to clinical and campus crises as needed
  • Provide supervision and seminars to assigned trainees in accordance with training policy and procedures
  • Commit to professional activities that promote critical thinking skills related to individuals, environments, cultures, and systems
  • Provide campus and community engagement services through outreach and liaison relationships with faculty, staff, parents, alumni, and students
  • Provide campus and community level interventions that address salient mental health topics
Requirements
  • Completed doctoral degree in Psychology from an APA-accredited program
  • Completed APA-accredited psychology internship
  • Currently licensed or immediately eligible for transfer of licensure within one year of hire in the state of North Carolina
  • Experience providing primary supervision to psychology interns
Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrates experience working with international communities
  • Experience working with members of the LGBTQIA communities and individuals from diverse spiritual/religious backgrounds
  • Bilingual language skills are strongly preferred

  • Demonstrates experience and capability to work as part of a highly cohesive and interdisciplinary team in a university counseling center

  • Demonstrates a continued commitment to self-awareness and growth related to intersectionality of one's identities
  • Experience with crisis intervention and consultation is essential
