Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Water Use Inspector to join our team at the City of New York. As a key member of our department, you will be responsible for directing and supervising water use inspection programs, ensuring compliance with departmental rules and regulations, and providing technical assistance to staff and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct and supervise water use inspection programs, including assigning and evaluating the work of inspectors
  • Prepare and review reports, including those related to water use and meter installation
  • Provide technical assistance to staff and stakeholders on water use and meter installation
  • Assist with testing new equipment and materials in the field and the AMR lab
  • Review and evaluate submissions related to the sale and use of water
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have three years of satisfactory full-time mechanical experience in plumbing or water use inspection, with at least one year in a supervisory capacity. Alternatively, you may have education and/or experience equivalent to the above.
