We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Faculty Development Specialist to join our team at West Coast University. As an Instructional Lead for Faculty Training, you will play a critical role in designing and delivering faculty development experiences that enhance student learning and academic success in online and blended learning environments.
Key Responsibilities- Faculty Development Program Management: Oversee the full lifecycle of faculty development experiences, including course design, presentation, and assessment.
- Training Program Design: Collaborate with department SMEs to design efficient and effective training programs that meet the needs of faculty and staff.
- Training Delivery: Schedule, present, and report on training activities and efficacy.
- Faculty Support: Provide expertise and support to online and blended academic instruction through the development, presentation, and assessment of faculty development and training.
- Needs Assessment: Participate in the review and assessment of online and blended faculty development needs and provide guidance to academic leaders during the faculty development plan process.
- Resource Planning: Plan for the appropriate resources of the department.
- Training and Coaching: Plan and provide training, coaching, and mentoring of faculty and other team members, and stakeholders.
- Learning Outcomes: Assure expected learning outcomes correspond to faculty development and training objectives and curriculum.
- Reporting and Auditing: Administer the creation, maintenance, and auditing of faculty professional development reports and software, including TeachPoint FPD tracking SaaS and MaxKnowledge.
- Webinar Development: Develop, staff, archive, and manage the creation of webinars and other learning experiences as needed for inclusion in the online and blended faculty web portal.
- Self-Guided Learning: Plan and produce self-guided learning resources and work collaboratively with the director and faculty to curate and produce a periodic, faculty development electronic newsletter.
- Instructor Management: Serve as an Instructor and manage the FTC-101, FTC-101T, and FTC-102 course enrollment process.
- Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of experience planning, teaching, tracking, and assessing all modalities of instruction and teaching in the Blackboard or other learning management systems and video conferencing platforms.
- Collaboration and Project Management: Demonstrated collaborative team skills and ability to manage projects and lead highly effective faculty development experiences.
- Technology and Instructional Strategies: Proven ability to learn and adapt quickly to new technology and implement instructional strategies.
- Dashboard and Data Analysis: Demonstrated experience using dashboard, survey/polling, gamification software, education technologies, and the Microsoft 360 suite of applications to collect, track, and report data.
- Design and Editing: Experience in the design and editing of images, infographics, websites, videos, audio recordings, and animations with the Adobe Creative Cloud applications (Photoshop, InDesign, Premiere Pro) and Adobe Spark.
- Process Implementation: Ability to implement new processes, procedures, and standards in an environment of continuous improvement.
- Travel and Flexibility: Ability to travel/drive locally and regionally on an as needed basis.
- Master's Degree: Master's degree in Education, Higher Education Leadership, Distance Education, Curriculum & Instruction, Educational Technology, or close related field required.
