Job Summary

The Principal Project Development Engineer will be responsible for managing unique problems that span across disciplines and/or businesses, making decisions within the context of long-term goals and objectives of the business. This position has final decision-making authority on technical matters in their discipline and is a recognized thought leader, both within and outside the organization, in the area of specialization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Defines project elements and processes required to meet client needs, participating in and coordinating preparation of bids and promoting and maintaining client relationships.
  • Oversees performance to contracts through shared planning and monitoring of work orders and deliverables with engineering, construction, and various other disciplines.
  • Leads major projects or multiple moderate projects with complex elements and a broad scope of responsibilities, through strong professional and technical leadership to ensure successful completion.
  • Cordinates with project management to execute project plans and directly supervise the teams' design and technical delivery.
  • Promotes and maintains client relationships through all project phases, including presenting directly to the client on technical and design solutions.
  • Recommends and implements strategy in support of long-term goals and objectives of the business.
  • Serves as a discipline leader, subject matter expert, and technical resource for discipline and related program activities.
  • Leads the development and application of company-wide standard operating procedures and technical requirements for projects and discipline deliverables.
  • Maintains professional registration and licensure by ensuring conformance with professional, ethical, educational, and discipline practice requirements.
Requirements
  • Requires a bachelor's degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited program or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 20 years relevant experience.
  • Recognized as a thought leader in area of expertise and specialization.
  • Proven experience leading the development and implementation of new services, processes, standards, or operational plans with significant impact on the achievement of results.
  • PE license required.
  • Proficient in production software and construction document production.
  • Must possess excellent oral and written communications skills, including ability to communicate with senior leadership on matters of strategic importance.
