Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join our Corporate Accounting team at BrightSpring Health Services. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing month-end close activities for an institutional special needs health plan (I-SNP) in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and statutory reporting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Close Activities
    • Prepare, review, and post journal entries
    • Reconcile and analyze assigned balance sheet and income statement accounts
    • Prepare monthly and quarterly variances analyses for management reporting
    • Assist with preparation of statutory and GAAP Reporting
    • Prepare audit schedules and footnote input
  • Internal Controls
    • Assist with the implementation of a comprehensive SOX framework, policies, and procedures to ensure the organization's financial integrity and compliance with relevant laws and regulations
    • Provide project management and assist in performing business process assessments by collaborating with process/function owners to identify best practices and process improvement opportunities
    • Collaborate with executive management, cross-functional teams, and external auditors to assess and identify financial, operational, and compliance risks, and develop appropriate controls and mitigation strategies
    • Establish and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including auditors and business process teams to ensure effective collaboration and communication regarding SOX compliance matters
    • Monitor and review control testing results, root cause analysis, and support timely remediation of control deficiencies and identified risks
    • Assist with the development of training programs to enhance awareness and understanding of SOX compliance requirements among employees at all levels of the organization
    • Prepare and present regular reports to management and the Audit Committee on the status of the SOX compliance program, audit findings, and recommended actions
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting
  • MBA or Master's of Accountancy, preferred
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of progressive accounting or audit experience within the healthcare insurance industry
  • Strong understanding of internal control concepts and participating in an effective SOX compliance program
  • Ability to embrace and take ownership of all responsibilities, including the month-end close and the day-to-day ownership of the SOX implementation project
  • Advanced certification such as a Certified Public Accountant, preferred
