Job Summary

Columbia Technology Partners is seeking a highly skilled Hardware Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for analyzing complex hardware systems for SIGINT solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conceive and document practical designs for hardware components, including servers, network devices, transmission media, storage devices, user interface devices, and special processors.
  • Ensure problems with operational hardware have been properly identified and solutions satisfy user requirements.
  • Assist with preparing installation guides, field test procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Conduct site surveys, assess current site network configuration, and document site-unique requirements.
  • Develop hardware installation schedules based on setup, integration, and test timeliness.
  • Train site personnel in proper hardware use.
  • Recommend specifications for hardware acquisitions.
  • Prepare engineering plans and site installation Technical Design Packages.
  • Prepare drawings documenting as-built configurations.
  • Configure computers, communications devices, and peripheral equipment.
  • Prepare installation guides, field test procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Schedule requested evaluations submitted from vendors.
  • Receive, unpack, and set up submitted commercial equipment for evaluation.
  • Review equipment documentation and manuals.
  • Select appropriate evaluation SOPs.
  • Set up appropriate tools and sensors to support evaluations.
  • Operate equipment to perform defined performance and safety evaluations.
  • Collect technical data to support evaluation.
  • Take photographs of equipment and residues from tests.
  • Generate technical reports to document evaluation results.
  • Review and update policies referencing secure destruction.
  • Respond to customer inquiries concerning policies and procedures.
Qualifications

Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in Communications Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, Mathematics, or a related discipline from an accredited college or university. Five years of additional hardware engineering experience may be substituted for a Bachelor's degree. IAT Level I certification and CompTIA A+ CE and CompTIA Network+ CE certifications are also required.
