Job Title: Wellness Director

The YMCA of Metropolitan Washington is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Wellness Director to lead our health and wellness programs and team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive wellness programs that meet the needs of our members and the community.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement innovative wellness initiatives that promote healthy living and community engagement.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the wellness department, including group exercise classes, personal training, and wellness programs.
  • Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate wellness staff, including instructors and trainers.
  • Monitor and maintain wellness equipment, ensuring a safe and clean environment.
  • Create and manage the wellness budget, including tracking expenses and revenue.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community partners and health organizations.
  • Plan and execute wellness events and programs to engage members and the community.
  • Monitor member satisfaction and implement strategies for improvement.
  • Stay current with trends and research in the field of health and wellness to ensure innovative and effective programming.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Health Promotion, or related field.
  • 5 years of relevant experience in wellness programming and management.
  • Proven track record of creating innovative and relevant programs and services to meet community wellness needs.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
  • Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) or Group Exercise Instructor through a nationally recognized organization.
