Position Overview
The Senior Manager of Trade for Food and Agricultural Exports plays a pivotal role in the delivery of trade services across regional areas, reporting directly to the Team Lead. This position is integral to supporting broader trade initiatives on behalf of the Department of Jobs, Skills, Industry and Regions (DJSIR).
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the effective execution of trade services in regional areas, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and reporting standards, while also overseeing daily operations and fostering team development through coaching and performance evaluations.
- Supervise the client engagement strategy across regional territories, identifying priority clients within key sectors of food and beverage, assessing their readiness for market, and offering business development support and referrals.
- Deliver tailored trade advice to both new and established exporters, assisting them in developing export strategies and capabilities, while facilitating connections to international markets through relevant trade offices.
About the Team
This role is part of the Global Victoria initiative within the ITI Group, which aims to enhance Victoria's global trade opportunities. The team is dedicated to building the export capabilities of local businesses and promoting Victoria's industry strengths to international audiences through a network of offices worldwide.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and attributes:
- Proven ability to cultivate and sustain successful relationships with a diverse array of clients and stakeholders, effectively addressing their business development needs.
- Significant experience in trade or international business, with a solid understanding of global market dynamics and trade compliance, particularly within the agrifood sector.
- A commercially driven mindset with strong analytical capabilities, enabling the provision of informed advice that aligns client goals with market opportunities.
Additional Information
