Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Anesthesiologist to join our team at VCU Health - MCV Physicians. As a key member of our Department of Anesthesiology, you will provide high-quality anesthetic care to pediatric patients and contribute to the advancement of research and quality improvement in anesthesiology and perioperative medicine.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide preanesthetic evaluation, intraoperative anesthetic care, postoperative rounds, resuscitation, and intensive care to pediatric patients.
  • Direct the activities of nurse anesthetists and supervise Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNA) as appropriate.
  • Participate in clinical trials and pursue clinical or laboratory research and other scholarly interests independently.
  • Teach and mentor residents, medical students, student nurse anesthetists, and others in a clinical setting.
  • Serve on departmental, School of Medicine, University, or VCU Health System committees as requested.
Requirements
  • MD or DO degree
  • ABA Board eligible/certified in Anesthesiology and/or certified/eligible for Critical Care Certification
  • Eligible for unrestricted medical licensure in Virginia
  • Eligible for employment in the United States
  • Good communication, clinical, and teaching skills
  • Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment
