What You Will Do:

The Supply Chain Management team within the Weapons Production Directorate is seeking a dedicated Material Control Coordinator to enhance our operational efficiency. The successful candidate will oversee the management of construction, programmatic, and facility-related materials for the Associate Lab Director for Weapons Production. This role is crucial in ensuring that construction and facility objectives are achieved.

The candidate will employ various inventory management systems to monitor and validate inventory levels, ensuring item traceability. Responsibilities include organizing materials for easy retrieval, verifying that items are stored correctly, and ensuring compliance with institutional storage protocols. The coordinator will be tasked with locating, pulling, and staging materials for construction activities, ensuring that the materials meet the required Management Level (ML) for their intended use and adhere to relevant codes and standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment by organizing shelves and workstations.
  • Ensure compliance with controlled storage procedures and inventory accuracy.
  • Demonstrate strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Work collaboratively within a team to achieve operational goals.
  • Support second shift operations with scheduled hours from 5:30 P.M. to 3:30 A.M.


What You Need:
Minimum Job Requirements:

Material Management:
Proven experience in managing materials in line with quality assurance and industry standards.

Business Systems:
Proficient in inventory control and material tracking systems, with advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access).

Communication:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a focus on customer service and teamwork.

Organizational Skills:
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a capacity to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.

Construction and/or Maintenance:
Basic understanding of construction and maintenance processes, with a mechanical and electrical aptitude.

Essential Job Functions:
Ability to lift a minimum of 40 lbs.

Education and Experience:
Requires 5 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Desired Qualifications:
  • Active DOE Q clearance.
  • Ability to obtain a Forklift license.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills, with experience in a nuclear environment.

Work Location: Onsite in Los Alamos, NM.
