Job Overview

Position Summary:

The role involves providing essential support to the Management Team while executing various HR administrative functions. Responsibilities encompass employee relations, training, performance oversight, attendance monitoring, staffing, payroll, and benefits administration. This position is also accountable for a range of administrative and customer service tasks, ensuring compliance with all plant and OSHA safety regulations.

Supervisory Duties:

None.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Offer guidance and support to leaders, supervisors, and employees on significant human resources issues and opportunities.
  • Lead Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) initiatives within the plant, including Safety Committee activities, incident investigations, and safety training.
  • Provide HR assistance across all departments regarding recruitment, interviewing, benefits, compensation, and employee relations matters.
  • Organize appointments, coordinate on-site interviews, prepare presentations, and manage confidential staffing documentation.
  • Conduct investigations and collaborate with the Human Resources Manager and Director to ensure prompt resolution of employee compliance with company policies.
  • Assist management in implementing organizational improvement initiatives.
  • Facilitate the annual employee survey process and develop plans to address identified gaps.
  • Provide support and coaching on various HR-related issues.
  • Coordinate succession planning and workforce development initiatives with relevant business areas.
  • Ensure fair, safe, and equitable work environments.
  • Identify and propose solutions for workplace improvement initiatives.
  • Facilitate employee recruitment by posting job openings internally.
  • Prepare new hire documentation; track, follow up, and maintain records.
  • Collaborate with the Recruiting Team on background screening processes; track, follow up, and document accordingly.
  • Conduct New Hire Orientation, including communicating benefits to all employees and coordinating enrollments.
  • Assist in administering the company's 401k plan and related documentation, including enrollments, eligibility, and processes for hardship loans and annual audits.
  • Set up and train employees on payroll/timekeeping systems and enrollment procedures.
  • Process, track, and send notifications regarding FMLA and Workers Compensation leaves, issues, and claims.
  • Update and communicate various HR practices, policies, procedures, laws, and regulations to employees and management.
  • Maintain records of incidents and accidents, ensuring compliance with OSHA 300 log requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint).
  • Task-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Ability to engage with employees at all organizational levels.
  • Capability to build strong working relationships with business partners and colleagues.
  • Effective communication with team members, visitors, and employees in a courteous and tactful manner.
  • Strong computer skills with extensive experience in Windows, Excel, Word, and Microsoft Outlook.
  • Working knowledge of Employment Law.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and learning new HR practices.
  • Highly organized, accurate, and detail-oriented.
  • Proficiency in English, both verbal and written.
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed.
  • Ability to pass all pre-employment screenings.

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • At least 1 year of experience in a Human Resources role.
  • Experience with ADP products or similar payroll processing software is preferred.
  • PHR/SPHR Certification is a plus.
