Diesel Service Technician / Mechanic Job Description

Murphy-Hoffman Company, LLC is seeking a skilled Diesel Service Technician / Mechanic to join our team. As a key member of our service team, you will be responsible for performing heavy-duty mechanical repairs and maintenance on diesel engines and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform general mechanical duties, including engine overhaul, fuel system maintenance, and electrical system repairs.
  • Gain experience by working on major components, such as transmissions, cooling systems, and chassis, with close supervision.
  • Troubleshoot minor problems and perform repairs as needed.
  • Attend training sessions and meetings to stay up-to-date on the latest techniques and technologies.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, and handle company tools and equipment with care.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and colleagues to ensure smooth workflow and efficient repairs.
  • Follow safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
Requirements:
  • CDL preferred, but not required.
  • Minimum three years of hands-on experience or completion of vocational courses.
  • A/C, Brake, and DOT Annual Inspector Certifications required.
  • Necessary tools and equipment to perform position responsibilities.
