Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Administrative Assistant to join our team at Albuquerque Public Schools. The successful candidate will provide clerical support according to established procedures, ensuring the smooth operation of our office.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with updates on Computer Database
  • Distribute reports, correspondence, and other documents
  • Handle internal and external telecommunications by receiving and relaying calls and answering routine inquiries
  • Maintain and update files and records
  • Maintain cumulative records
  • Maintain student attendance records
  • Tabulate and post data
  • Assist other office personnel
  • Receive and relay visitors to the office as appropriate
  • Handle routine paperwork by sorting, routing, gathering signatures, and following through on various dispositions
  • Maintain supplies and materials for the office and receive deliveries
  • Maintain a complex filing system
  • Assist in maintaining annual equipment inventory
Additional Duties
  • Comply with state-approved Code of Ethics of the Education Profession and uphold and enforce rules, administrative directives, and regulations, school board policies, and local, state, and federal regulations
  • Articulate and facilitate the implementation of the mission and values of the Albuquerque Public Schools
  • Safeguard confidentiality of privileged information
  • Prepare and maintain accurate and complete records and reports as required by law, state directives, District policy, and administrative regulations
  • Share the responsibility for the supervision and care of District inventory, proper and safe use of facilities, equipment, and supplies, and report safety hazards promptly
  • Maintain professional relationships and work cooperatively with employees, the community, and other professionals
  • Maintain professional competence through individual and staff training, in-service educational activities, and self-selected professional growth activities
  • Attend staff meetings and participate on committees within the area of responsibility
  • Perform other tasks related to the area of responsibilities as requested or assigned by an immediate supervisor
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid New Mexico Driver's License with Liability insured vehicle
