Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate On-call Youth and Adolescent Intensive Services Technician to join our team at Kitsap Mental Health Services (KMHS). As a key member of our intensive services team, you will provide behavioral health support to young people involved in our programs, promoting positive relationships and a safe, therapeutic environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide 1:1 assistance to youth with mild to severe behavioral problems, including those who may be physically and verbally aggressive.
  • Establish positive, healthy relationships with youth and engage them in activities that promote their emotional, developmental, and educational needs.
  • Support staff coverage across our Intensive Services programs, including the Youth Inpatient Unit (YIU) and Madrona Day Treatment.
  • Document client interactions and progress as required by KMHS policies and procedures.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean, clutter-free, and trauma-informed work environment.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Entry-level experience in customer service, social services, or behavioral health, preferably with youth.
  • Agency Affiliated Counselor Registration.
  • Valid Washington Food Handler card.
  • FBI fingerprinting (may be required).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, social services, or behavioral health field.
  • Experience working with clients with severe and persistent mental illness.
  • Experience working with Special Education.
  • Experience with milieu treatment.
Performance Requirements
  • Maintain a working knowledge and understanding of child development.
  • Maintain a working knowledge and skill in verbal de-escalation as outlined in ProACT and other agency-mandated trainings.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of evidence-based practices utilized to serve this population, including motivational interviewing and ABA.
Working Conditions

This is a part-time, on-call position that requires flexibility and adaptability. You will be working with a diverse population of youth and families, and must be able to maintain a calm and professional demeanor in high-stress situations.
