Job Summary

Cleveland Clinic is seeking a highly skilled Advanced Practice Provider to join our Neurosurgery team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide primary and specialty care to patients in a variety of healthcare settings.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough medical histories, perform complete physical examinations, and initiate appropriate lab and radiology tests to establish a patient's current health status and develop a working diagnosis and treatment plan.
  • Work collaboratively with the healthcare team to provide high-quality patient care.
  • Prescribe and monitor medications as allowed by license and Cleveland Clinic policies.
  • Educate patients and answer questions regarding their disease, treatments, and related drug and treatment side effects.
  • Participate in medical team rounds and collaborate with nursing, medical, and other healthcare team members to ensure quality patient care.
  • Refer patients to specialists as appropriate for consultation or specialized health resources and treatment.
  • Ensure continuity of care by serving as a liaison between patients and other members of the multi-disciplinary care team.
  • Participate in quality monitoring through the review of records and treatment plans for patient outcomes to assure quality care.
  • Support professional development of the healthcare team and promote the translation of evidence-based practices, guidelines, and research.
Requirements
  • APRN: Master's degree in Nursing required upon hire or within 3 years of hire for external hires and internal hires moving from a non-APRN licensed role to an APRN licensed role.
  • Graduate of an accredited APRN program.
  • PA: Certification as a Physician Assistant through the NCCPA or successor organization recognized by their practicing states Licensing Board.
  • License to practice and prescribe issued by their practicing states Licensing Board.
  • Current DEA License or DEA designee as required by NCQA.
