Position Overview:
As a Culinary Specialist in the Back of House, you will play a crucial role in our food and beverage operations.

Role Summary: This position supports the success of our Roastery & Reserve locations by delivering an outstanding experience to every customer, embodying our coffee expertise and commitment to quality.

By focusing on operational excellence, you will collaborate with your team to create a memorable Roastery & Reserve experience for both customers and colleagues.

As a representative of our brand, you will model and uphold Starbucks guiding principles.


Key Responsibilities:
Culinary Expert & Brand Advocate:

Demonstrate integrity, knowledge, and passion that reflect the culture, values, and mission of Starbucks. Provide a unique coffee-forward experience for every customer and serve as a knowledgeable resource on our food and beverage menu items, including preparation methods.

Maintain composure and professionalism during busy periods or unexpected events.

Deliver quality beverages, whole bean products, and food items consistently by following all recipe and presentation standards. Adhere to health, safety, and sanitation protocols. Contribute positively to the team environment and maintain regular attendance.

Customer Service:

Anticipate customer needs by continuously assessing the environment and customer cues. Provide exceptional service to all customers, ensuring a complete service experience.

Support Roastery and Reserve events through effective execution and participation.

Sales:

Maintain knowledge of over 100 unique Roastery & Reserve products and engage customers using effective selling techniques.


Operations:

Thrive in a fast-paced environment with rapid innovation, ensuring timely delivery of products and services. Follow operational policies and procedures, including cash handling and safety protocols.

Keep a clean and organized workspace for efficient resource and product access.

Basic Qualifications:
Ability to perform physical tasks such as bending, twisting, and standing for extended periods. Ability to lift 35 lbs consistently. Experience in service or hospitality industries is preferred.

Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English. Availability for flexible hours, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Preferred Qualifications:
1-2 years of experience in specialty retail sales. Ability to carry and balance trays. High attention to detail with strong multitasking and prioritization skills. Quick learner with the ability to read customer cues and create immersive experiences. Strong interpersonal skills for building relationships quickly. Ability to work across various positions within the store.

Ability to memorize complex menus and ingredient lists. Facilitation and presentation skills. Capability to understand and follow oral and written instructions, seeking clarification when necessary. Team-oriented mindset in a diverse and inclusive environment.
