Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented individual to join our kitchen team as a Food Preparation Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing a wide variety of foods according to recipe requirements and adhering to product sensitivities and plate presentation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure that all prepared food meets our standard of excellence, adheres to recipe requirements, and follows product sensitivity and plate presentation guidelines.
  • Comply with all food safety rules, laws, protocols, and standards to maintain a safe and healthy environment for our guests and team members.
  • Place expo-ready food in the window using the appropriate zoning standards to ensure a visually appealing presentation.
  • Stay up-to-date on recipe changes and ensure proper execution of recipe procedures to maintain a high-quality and consistent product.
  • Keep the entire kitchen clean, stocked, and organized, and ensure that all equipment is properly maintained.
  • Communicate ticket times and potential problems with the service staff, kitchen staff, and managers to ensure seamless service.
  • Complete assigned prep work for stocking and setting up the station, and break down and clean the station thoroughly at the end of the shift.
  • Assist with line checks and ensure that every product on the assigned station is within sensitivity guidelines and adheres to food safety standards.
  • Requisition products on a timely basis and operate and maintain equipment properly to minimize downtime.
  • Clean and sanitize throughout the shift to maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Ensure proper rotation of all products and stock products to par, and label, day dot, and sign all products as appropriate.
Requirements
  • Must be able to perform multiple tasks while maintaining standards in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
  • Must produce items exactly according to recipe to ensure guest satisfaction and control food costs.
  • Must follow food handling and sanitation procedures to control food costs and ensure overall safety.
  • Must be able to read guest orders and communicate effectively with the service staff and kitchen staff.
  • Must be able to hear kitchen, window person, and/or manager requests in the midst of loud background noise.
  • Must be able to stand, move, and walk for the entire shift, and bend and stoop frequently.
  • Must be able to lift and carry sacks and cases of up to 70 lbs., up to 20 times per shift, and place these items on high shelves and in walk-in freezers.
  • Must be able to work frequently in a hot and damp environment, and occasionally work in extreme cold temperatures in the walk-in freezer.
  • Must be able to use hands 99% of the time.
