Odle Management is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Career Development Specialist to join our team. As a Career Development Specialist, you will play a critical role in supporting the career development and personal growth of our students.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with colleagues to provide comprehensive support to students, including career counseling, education, and training.
- Assess and evaluate student progress, identifying areas of strength and weakness, and develop strategies to address challenges.
- Document student progress and provide regular updates to supervisors and other stakeholders.
- Develop and implement individualized career plans for students, including setting short- and long-term goals.
- Provide training and support to center staff on related counseling techniques and career development strategies.
- Participate in joint sessions with residential staff and the Center Mental Health Consultant to review student records and develop strategies to meet identified needs.
- Co-facilitate small group social skills sessions, including employability skills, career success standards, and core values.
- Collaborate with residential staff to develop close working relationships and provide support to students.
- Participate in all phases of Career Management Team decisions, assessing student transitional support needs and developing strategies to meet identified needs.
- Provide counseling-related assistance to all other staff functions within the center.
- Attend required staff training sessions and maintain a commitment to ongoing professional development.
- Bachelor's degree, including 15 semester hours of Social Sciences or related area.
- One-year experience in a counseling capacity or related field.
- Job Corps experience preferred.
- Valid State driver's license in the state of employment with an acceptable driving record.
This position involves frequent sitting, and occasional standing and walking. The individual must be able to see, hear, and speak.
The position requires the ability to spend 15% of work time outside and 85% of work time indoors, withstand moderate noise levels, and work in high and low temperature settings.
