Job Summary

The Network Infrastructure Specialist will be responsible for evaluating and upgrading network cabling infrastructure within chemical plant environments. This role involves collaborating with site contacts and third-party vendors to assess and improve fiber and copper network infrastructure, ensuring alignment with Amtec's current standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Core Infrastructure Design: Designing core infrastructure layouts using industry standards, best practices, regulatory codes, and site-specific safety requirements. This includes power management, network equipment, and network connectivity.
  • Documentation & Technical Specifications: Creating detailed documentation and technical specifications for both current and future state cabling/power infrastructure environments.
  • Improvement Identification: Identifying areas of improvement in network path redundancy, power management, and the organization of MDF/IDF room locations.
  • Collaboration & Scheduling: Working closely with the network team and site contacts to prioritize and schedule necessary site work.
  • Materials & Equipment Management: Identifying and procuring the necessary materials and equipment, and developing/reviewing bills of materials required to complete projects.
  • Quality Assurance: Overseeing and reviewing the work performed, conducting testing and inspections to ensure QA objectives are met.
Requirements:
  • RCDD Certification: Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) with a minimum of 5 years of industrial experience.
  • Cisco Experience: At least 2 years of hands-on experience working with Cisco routers and switches.
  • Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of fiber optic design and category cabling.
  • Project Management: Proven experience in project management, including defining scope, objectives, and timelines related to infrastructure design work.
