Job Summary

The Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) plays a critical role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient-centered care in the emergency department. This leader will be responsible for directing, monitoring, and evaluating nursing care in accordance with established policies and procedures. Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with admission and discharge processes to ensure efficient throughput and high-quality care
  • Participating in the ongoing assessment of the quality of patient care services provided in the unit
  • Collaborating with subject matter experts and other managers to create an environment of teamwork that supports improved outcomes and service
  • Supporting a patient-first philosophy and engaging in service recovery when necessary
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will possess a strong background in nursing, with at least one year of acute care experience and two years of experience in an emergency department setting. Additionally, the following qualifications are required:

  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse from Texas Board of Nurse Examiners
  • BSN degree required
  • Current BLS-Healthcare Provider certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Certification in specialty required within 1 year
  • Completion of charge nurse course required within one year
