Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Produce Department Manager to oversee the daily operations of our produce department. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring exceptional customer service, managing department finances, and leading a team of associates to achieve high levels of business performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide customers with a remarkable shopping experience by demonstrating excellent customer service and training store associates.
  • Achieve department financials by identifying and implementing best practices and optimization strategies.
  • Directly lead department staff, focusing on accountability and achieving high levels of business performance.
  • Develop department staff through annual appraisals, supervision reports, and performance reviews.
  • Implement visual merchandising and planogram strategies to enhance the shopping experience.
  • Manage product rotation, spoils, shrink, and markdowns to optimize inventory and reduce waste.
  • Ensure department cleanliness and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Manage sign and price integrity to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Train department staff on department procedures, safety protocols, and food safety guidelines.
  • Order product and manage inventory to maximize sales and profitability.
Requirements
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, leadership, and training skills.
  • Strong organization, administration, and math skills.
  • Knowledge of department operations, financials, produce and floral products, and visual merchandising techniques.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; one year of college or vocational school preferred.
