As a Cook Specialist I, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional culinary services to our residents, ensuring their nutritional needs are met, and promoting a positive dining experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook a variety of meals, including breakfast, lunch, and dinner, for residents with diverse dietary needs and preferences.
  • Manage food inventory, ordering supplies, and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment.
  • Collaborate with the Dietary Manager to develop and implement menus, ensuring compliance with nutritional standards and resident preferences.
  • Provide excellent customer service, responding to resident feedback and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks, and meeting deadlines to ensure seamless meal service.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; culinary arts degree or certification preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a commercial kitchen, preferably in a healthcare or senior living setting.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for long periods, and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with residents, staff, and vendors.

Working Conditions

This position requires working in a kitchen environment, with exposure to heat, noise, and potentially hazardous equipment. Employees must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent interruptions and changing priorities.
