About the Role

We are seeking a visionary leader to serve as the Vice Provost for Global Engagement at InsideHigherEd. This is a unique opportunity to join a dynamic team and contribute to the advancement of international education and research.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement the university's international agenda and internationalization efforts.
  • Lead the Office of International Studies and Programs, overseeing a large and complex set of units, including area and thematic centers, student and scholar programs, and international services and administrative support.
  • Forge effective alliances with multicultural and international stakeholders, promoting collaboration, team building, and working cooperatively with peers, faculty, staff, and a diverse group of university constituencies.
  • Engage and develop international or intercultural partnerships with civic, community, cultural, and industry leaders locally and globally, benefiting university students, faculty, and alumni.
  • Develop and execute plans to enhance the university's international endeavors and manage change within a complex environment.
Requirements
  • Doctorate in International Relations or a related field.
  • Proven experience in global engagement and international research and education.
  • Skills in academic administration, resource management, and program formation.
  • Ability to motivate diverse teams of employees and develop global partnerships.
  • Experience with international student recruitment, including sponsored students, scholars, employees, and sponsoring entities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Compelling vision of the future of international engagement, inspiring institutional growth and change.
  • Knowledge of evolving patterns of international collaborations between universities and global partners.
  • Demonstrated understanding of issues involved in effective delivery of high-quality international research, outreach, and instructional programs.
  • Ability to work effectively in culturally diverse communities, with a commitment to the principles of inclusive excellence.
