Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Environmental Scientist to join our team at Intrepid Potash. As an Environmental Scientist, you will play a critical role in ensuring our operations comply with environmental regulations and standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with environmental compliance inspections and audits to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Manage and arrange for the disposal of hazardous and universal wastes in accordance with company policies and regulatory guidelines.
  • Collaborate with operations teams to implement best practices for environmental compliance and sustainability.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with regulatory personnel and stakeholders.
  • Assist with data collection, analysis, and reporting to support environmental management and compliance efforts.
  • Prepare and submit various records and reports related to permit requirements and environmental data.
  • Assist with special projects, such as groundwater sampling and compliance stack testing.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Geology, or a related technical field.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret scientific data and information.
  • Experience in mining or heavy industry environments.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with federal, state, and local environmental permitting.
  • Knowledge of Clean Water Act, Clean Air Act, and Resource Conservation and Recovery Act.
  • Experience with NEPA, MSHA, OSHA, and DOT regulations.
