Registered Nurse - Hospital Care

In this role, you will collaborate with a team of dedicated physicians, nurses, and healthcare professionals in a nurturing and family-like atmosphere.

As a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU), your responsibilities will include providing direct nursing care, closely monitoring and documenting patient conditions, implementing care plans, and administering necessary medications and treatments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct nursing care in line with established protocols and policies.
  • Monitor, document, and communicate patient conditions effectively.
  • Evaluate and adjust care plans to achieve desired health outcomes.
  • Coordinate care among various healthcare disciplines for seamless patient management.
  • Administer medications and treatments as per nursing protocols.
  • Carry out physician and nursing directives.
  • Assess and facilitate discharge planning needs with the healthcare team.
  • Address educational needs of patients and their families, considering cultural and individual factors.
  • Provide relevant teaching materials and validate understanding.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development through education and clinical practice.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate from an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.

Licensure and Certifications:

  • Current RN licensure in the state.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire.
  • Completion of ONS Chemo/Bio course within one year if applicable.
  • ACLS certification required for Emergency Department roles.
  • PALS certification required for pediatric emergency roles.
  • Attendance in Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) or Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) as applicable.
  • Participation in Vascular Access Registered Nurse (VARN) program and obtain necessary certifications as required.

Work Environment:

  • Requires strong critical thinking and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to function effectively in high-pressure situations.

Experience:

  • Minimum one year of recent acute care RN experience in a hospital setting is required.
  • Experience in skilled nursing facilities or rehabilitation settings is also considered.

Physical Demands:

  • Requires full range of motion and the ability to lift and handle patients.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Must be able to work under stress and irregular hours.

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Adhere to standard precautions and utilize personal protective equipment as necessary.
