Responsibilities- Provide direct nursing care to patients in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Implement and monitor patient care plans to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Monitor and document patient condition, including vital signs and medication administration.
- Evaluate and update patient care plans as needed to ensure effective care.
- Coordinate patient care with other healthcare team members to ensure seamless transitions and optimal patient outcomes.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians and in accordance with approved nursing protocols.
- Assess and coordinate patient discharge planning needs with the healthcare team.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families to promote health and wellness.
- Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing.
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
- ONS Chemo/Bio course completion within one year of employment if employed on units where chemotherapy is administered.
- ACLS certification upon hire or within one year of beginning work in the Emergency Department.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) upon hire or within one year of beginning work in the Emergency Department.
- Vascular Access Registered Nurse (VARN) program attendance and certification as a Certified Registered Nurse Infusion (CRNI) or Vascular Access Board Certified (VA-BC) within one year of hire in Peripherally Inserted Central Catheter (PICC) settings.

As a Registered Nurse in our Clinical Decision Unit, you will be expected to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action to ensure optimal patient care.
Physical RequirementsThis role requires full range of body motion, including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination. You will be expected to stand and walk for extended periods of time and work in a variety of environments, including patient rooms and treatment areas.
Personal Protective EquipmentCleveland Clinic follows standard precautions and requires the use of personal protective equipment as needed to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.
