Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Event Manager to join our team at Marriott International Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and executing all aspects of events, conferences, and meetings, ensuring seamless execution and exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Event Planning and Coordination: Plan and coordinate all event details, including venue selection, catering, audio-visual equipment, and decorations.
  • Client Communication: Communicate with clients to understand their event requirements and preferences, and ensure that their needs are met.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with the Sales team, operating departments, and other stakeholders to ensure a smooth event execution.
  • Revenue Maximization: Identify opportunities to maximize revenue through up-selling and offering enhancements to create outstanding events.
  • Event Execution: Oversee the setup, execution, and teardown of events, ensuring that all details are attended to and that the event runs smoothly.
  • Post-Event Follow-up: Follow up with clients after the event to ensure their satisfaction and gather feedback for future improvements.
Requirements
  • Professional Experience: 2-4 years of experience in event management at a luxury property.
  • Education: 4-year university degree or equivalent experience in luxury hotels/resorts.
  • Skills and Abilities: Proven organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills; ability to work flexible schedules, including holidays and weekends; and ability to work with and understand financial information and data.
Physical Requirements
  • Physical Fitness: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, stand, walk, reach, and bend throughout the shift.
  • Weight and Lifting: Ability to lift, pull, and push items up to 50 pounds.
