Position Overview

The Assistant Pastry Chef is responsible for the overall success of daily pastry operations within the kitchen. This role requires a combination of culinary expertise and leadership skills to ensure high-quality food production while managing the kitchen staff effectively.

Key Responsibilities
  • Culinary Excellence: Lead kitchen operations, ensuring compliance with all culinary standards and procedures. Prepare and cook a variety of pastry items, catering to both regular and special events.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and coordinate the activities of pastry cooks and kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
  • Guest Satisfaction: Deliver exceptional service by maintaining high standards of food quality and presentation, while also addressing guest feedback and concerns promptly.
  • Operational Management: Manage daily production needs, maintain inventory standards, and ensure adherence to sanitation and food safety regulations.
  • Staff Development: Mentor and train kitchen staff, identifying their developmental needs and providing guidance to enhance their culinary skills.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent; 4 years of experience in culinary arts or related field, or a 2-year degree in Culinary Arts with 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Proven ability to lead a team and manage kitchen operations effectively.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety standards and culinary techniques.
