Job Summary

As a Pastry Sous Chef at Marriott Hotels, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the pastry department, ensuring the highest quality standards are met, and providing exceptional customer service. This role requires strong leadership and communication skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the pastry department, including supervising staff and coordinating daily operations.
  • Ensure the highest quality standards are met in all pastry products, including presentation, taste, and texture.
  • Develop and implement new menu items and recipes to enhance the guest experience.
  • Collaborate with the executive chef and other department heads to ensure seamless operations and achieve business objectives.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, responding to guest feedback and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; 4 years of experience in the culinary industry, preferably in a pastry or baking role.
  • 2-year degree from an accredited culinary school or related field; 2 years of experience in the culinary industry, preferably in a pastry or baking role.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire team members.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to think critically and make sound decisions.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, with a high level of attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
