Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Bilingual Educational Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our educational support team, you will provide instructional assistance to students in a classroom setting, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist students with diverse needs in a school environment, promoting an inclusive and positive atmosphere.
  • Provide individualized support to students with special needs or disabilities, helping them engage in classroom activities.
  • Assist with personal hygiene, mobility, and daily living skills as needed, ensuring the well-being of students.
  • Support students in completing assignments and understanding instructional material, facilitating their academic growth.
  • Implement strategies to promote positive behavior and assist with behavioral interventions as directed by teachers or special education staff.
  • Monitor students during class, lunch, and recess to ensure safety and appropriate social interactions.
  • Work closely with teachers, special education staff, and parents to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress, behavior, and any significant observations for reporting purposes.
  • Participate in training and workshops to enhance skills and stay informed about best practices in education and student support.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associates degree or coursework in education or special education experience preferred.
  • Ability to speak, read, and write English and the language representative of the targeted English Language Learners (ELLs) population.
  • Experience working with children, particularly those with special needs, is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students and staff.
  • Patience, empathy, and a commitment to fostering a supportive learning environment.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively in a team setting.
  • Capability to assist students with physical mobility and engage in activities that may require bending, lifting, or standing for extended periods.
