Job Title: Senior Scientist - Protein Engineering

Systimmune Inc. is a clinical-stage bio-pharmaceutical company focused on developing breakthrough-therapeutic multi-specific antibodies and antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs). We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Scientist to join our research team in Redmond, WA.

Job Summary:

The Senior Scientist will be responsible for monitoring, executing, and coordinating activities in the research lab. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in antibody-based therapeutics, protein engineering, molecular biology, purification, and characterization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Participate in the design and development of novel biologic drug engineering for therapeutic multi-specific antibodies and ADCs.
  • Use structural and sequence analysis to guide the design of proteins and expression plasmids utilizing computer software.
  • Optimize, select, and validate candidate proteins for stability and critical drug-like properties.
  • Perform cloning, mammalian cell line expression, purification, and characterization of protein constructs.
  • Develop comprehensive protein engineering approaches to enhance antibody stability under various physiological conditions.
  • Use computer software to generate homology models and evaluate their properties via in silico simulation.
  • Perform protein analytics such as biolayer interferometry, dynamic light scattering, SDS-PAGE, and HPLC.
  • Develop and review Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for regulatory filing, laboratory duties, experiment design, data analysis, and instruction operation.
  • Collaborate with other divisions to advance company goals.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, the candidate must have a Ph.D. degree with four or more years of experience in protein engineering. The ideal candidate will have a scientific background in structural biology, molecular biology, biochemistry, protein purification, and characterization. Experience in therapeutic antibody engineering is required.

The candidate must be able to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence and effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations is also required. Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills are essential.

Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required. Ability to read or write in Mandarin is a plus.
