Job Summary

The Field Service Technician is responsible for providing high-quality, efficient, and timely repair, preventative maintenance, and installation of Cook capital equipment at customers' facilities in the Southeast Region. This includes, but is not limited to, Ohio.


Key Responsibilities


• Read, understand, and execute written and oral instructions
• Interpret and apply complex drawings to build and repair equipment
• Perform scheduled maintenance on field-based installed equipment
• Provide accurate and legible documentation
• Utilize hand tools, power tools, and other equipment as needed
• Assemble and disassemble objects to set up and operate equipment
• Respond promptly to requests from within the territory, including emergency service requests, preventative maintenance requests, and installation requests
• Develop and maintain excellent customer relations skills, including the ability to explain and train
• Collaborate effectively and professionally with various levels of the global organization



• Perform work in accordance with the Cook Quality System
• Demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Remain calm and receptive in fast-paced situations
• Stay focused and on task
• Complete quality work within acceptable time frames


Requirements


• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as electronics or biotechnology
• Strong mathematical skills and technical aptitude
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office software (e.g., Word, Excel)
• Ability to work flexible shifts and adapt to changing work schedules



• Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Cook does not intend to provide sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B or TN status) for this employment position


Physical Demands


• Ability to travel approximately 80%
• Occasionally lifts and/or moves up to 50 pounds
• Utilizes close visual acuity for working with computers, machinery, etc.
• Works with chemicals such as adhesives, acetone, and isopropyl alcohol
• Able to perform continuous repetitive motions using hands



• Good eyesight, hand dexterity, and attention to detail
• Frequently required to stand for extended periods, walk, use hands to grasp, carry, feel, or touch; reach with hands and arms
