Maintenance Supervisor Job Description

Job Summary:

The Maintenance Supervisor is a key member of our team at Skagit LaborMax Staffing, responsible for overseeing the maintenance activities in our 24/7 manufacturing environment. This role requires a strong background in maintenance and supervision, with the ability to lead a team and make decisions that impact the efficiency and safety of our operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the maintenance team to ensure that all equipment is properly maintained and repaired in a timely manner.
  • Develop and implement a preventative maintenance program to minimize downtime and improve efficiency.
  • Investigate equipment failures and implement corrective actions to improve reliability and performance.
  • Monitor parts requests and ensure adequate inventory and cost efficiencies are being met.
  • Lead maintenance-related continuous improvement tasks and report back to management with status updates.
  • Facilitate the selection of appropriate resources to minimize costs and ensure on-time and on-budget completion.
  • Ensure compliance with all legislative requirements and minimize the risk of accidents and pollution.
  • Enhance the motivation and team-spirit of all operation staff.

Requirements:

  • 5 or more years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of engineering concepts, including electrical, mechanical, and robotics systems.
  • Ability to read wiring diagrams, electrical/mechanical/pneumatic/hydraulic schematics, and ladder/function block logic.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and general math skills, including fractions and decimals.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Working knowledge of industrial PCs and PLCs (Siemens Step 7, Beckhoff Twin Cat) and electric circuits consisting of contractors, relays, main voltage/control voltage, limit switches, and proximity sensors.

Desired Traits:

  • Detailed-oriented individual capable of time and project management.
  • Ability to work independently and as a part of a team.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical technology, mechatronics, engineering, or related field or equivalent work experience.
  • 5 years or more experience in a maintenance supervisory position.
  • Experience in highly automated manufacturing environments.
  • Experience in working with ABB robots, preferred.
  • Some fabrication experience, preferred.
