Position Overview: The Project Manager for the data transformation initiative at Comrise acts as the pivotal point for coordination and delivery of our critical new Business Intelligence (BI) transformation. This role encompasses technologies such as Looker, dbt, and BigQuery, focusing on delivering high-quality BI solutions while managing a diverse team and ensuring projects are executed on schedule and within budgetary constraints.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Execution:
- Oversee the comprehensive delivery of data models within the semantic layer to facilitate self-service BI for users.
- Guarantee project completion within the stipulated timeline, budget, and quality standards.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Serve as the primary liaison for project stakeholders, ensuring consistent and transparent communication regarding project status, risks, and challenges.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to promote effective teamwork and ensure tasks are delegated and completed efficiently.
Risk Assessment:
- Proactively identify and address risks and issues that may affect project delivery, developing strategies for risk mitigation.
- Continuously monitor project risks, issues, and dependencies.
Team Collaboration:
- Encourage a cooperative atmosphere within the Data Platform Team and related departments.
- Engage in an Agile environment that prioritizes collaboration and teamwork.
- Facilitate communication to ensure all team members are actively contributing to the success of the program.
Quality Control:
- Ensure all deliverables meet quality standards and fulfill the requirements set by the organization and clients.
- Implement strategies to monitor and enhance solution quality.
Continuous Development:
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement within the team.
- Analyze project performance metrics to identify improvement opportunities.
Reporting:
- Provide regular updates on project progress, challenges, and outcomes to senior management and stakeholders.
- Ensure transparency regarding the program's status and performance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in program, project, or delivery management roles, preferably in digital solutions deployment.
- Experience managing multi-disciplinary teams and multiple projects concurrently.
- Prior experience in the environmental services sector or a related field is advantageous.
Skills:
- Strong project management capabilities, including proficiency in Agile methodologies (including SCRUM) and project management tools (such as GitLab).
- In-depth knowledge of Business Intelligence, semantic layers (Looker), Data Warehousing (BigQuery), and data management.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Capacity to manage competing priorities and adapt to evolving project requirements.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent is highly desirable.
- Agile Scrum Master certification or similar is a plus.
- Certifications related to data management, digital solutions, or environmental sustainability are beneficial.
