Pediatric Nurse Specialist

Thom Child & Family Services is seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join their team in Lowell, MA. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with the pediatric population and providing home-based early parenting partnership services to families with infants and toddlers.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing coaching and guidance to parents/caregivers, monitoring developmental milestones, and ensuring families' priorities, needs, culture, and values are prioritized.
The role involves working in partnership with parents/caregivers to provide connection, assistance, and resources available in local communities. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and organizational skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as a team member.

- Assist and/or complete initial intakes and provide follow-up referrals and/or interagency service coordination as needed.
- Provide services using a coaching model with infants and families, including home visits and child groups.
- Monitor developmental milestones and progress with parents/caregivers to inform ongoing need for direct service, assessment and/or referrals.
- Provide parent/caregiver education on health and safety issues during home visits or parent education groups.
- Complete progress notes, reports, assessments, and correspondence as appropriate.
Requirements:
- Current Registered Nurse licensure in the state of Massachusetts
- BSN preferred
- Ability to work independently and as a team member
- Strong ability to engage in meaningful, therapeutic relationships with children, parents/caregivers, and community partners
- Knowledge of family systems and early childhood development
- Commitment to delivering individualized and culturally informed services
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Abide by all confidentiality and professional boundaries standards
- Good computer skills as well as strong documentation skills
- Current driver's license and reliable transportation
- Bilingual/Bicultural a plus.
