Join OneMain Financial, a leader in offering nonprime customers responsible access to credit, as a Leave of Absence Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for managing leave and ADA accommodation processes within the guidelines of federal and state laws, and company policies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Administer Leave of Absence Programs and policies, engaging with team members, HR partners, management, and third-party administrators to ensure appropriate support and processes are followed.
  • Engage in the interactive process associated with ADA Accommodations and the Pregnancy Workers Fairness Act.
  • Accurately and timely process high volumes of leave actions in Company payroll, timekeeping, and HR systems.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of leave laws, PWFA, and ADA regulations.
  • Collaborate with Workers Compensation vendors to process employee claims and ensure successful vendor interfaces are in place.
  • Develop, generate, and present reports to analyze leave data and trends.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for the leave programs in alignment and under the general direction and guidance of HR leadership and Legal.
  • Process State Disability Claims as necessary.
  • Reconcile/analyze payroll files or resolve individual pay inquiries related to leaves.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal leave laws, providing support and project execution when new laws develop.
Requirements:
  • 3+ years of experience in US disability/leave administration and ADA accommodation.
  • Deep understanding and application of federal and state disability and paid family leave laws (i.e., ADA, FMLA, PFWA, CFRA, HIPPA, etc.) in a multi-state environment.
  • Experience in administering a CA VDI Plan is a plus.
  • Independent worker and must be able to regularly exercise discretion, handle conflict, and be firm when required.
  • Exceptional critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex questions and determine the best course of actions or recommendation.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels.
  • Ability to take initiative and make decisions under pressure.
Preferred:
  • Workday experience is preferred.
  • Project management skills.
  • Experience in a high-volume environment or large employer.
