Position Overview

The Wireless Technology Maintenance Technician will be responsible for diagnosing and rectifying issues related to circuit boards and associated components within a manufacturing setting, focusing on various wireless platforms and technologies such as radios, base station modules, antennae, optical transport, and Ethernet systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Establish and maintain RF testing environments utilizing Duplexers, Directional Couplers, RF Power Dividers/Combiners, RF Attenuators, and other RF accessories. Conduct inspections and RF functionality tests on wireless products using equipment like Signal Generators, Spectrum Analyzers, Power Meters, and Network Analyzers. Ensure daily calibration of testing equipment.
  2. Demonstrate proficiency in troubleshooting both with and without schematics, and create simple schematics from circuit boards. Follow repair procedures to rectify faulty boards, applying comprehensive knowledge of digital and analog circuit design and theory for component-level troubleshooting. Research component specifications from datasheets to enhance circuit understanding and accurately request necessary parts. Maintain compliance with production standards, metrics, schedules, and demands while effectively communicating with fellow technicians, engineering teams, or management regarding repair progress and RMA status.
  3. Accurately update repair documentation using a PC and ERP system, ensuring that calibrated equipment IDs are recorded within test records as required.
  4. Exhibit strong reasoning skills, applying logical or scientific principles to a diverse range of practical challenges. Engage with complex nonverbal symbols (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, etc.) and navigate various abstract and concrete variables.
  5. Oversee special projects and undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Associate's Degree in Electronics or a related field from a recognized two-year college or technical institution. Relevant certifications are advantageous.
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience with RF cellular equipment or over 6 years in a comparable electronics field, specifically in the repair of Telecom/Wireless and IP equipment, as well as circuit boards.
  • Preferred experience includes working with Wireless equipment repairs from leading manufacturers such as Ericsson and Nokia.
  • Collaborate with Test and Repair Technicians, as well as Engineers, to enhance testing processes and methodologies.
  • Possess excellent verbal, written, and computer skills.
  • Willingness to work overtime as necessary.
