Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Program Coordinator - Youth Development to join our team at the YMCA of Greater Springfield Inc. This is an exciting opportunity to work with school-age children, promoting learning opportunities and leading activities in conjunction with the Site Director.

Job Responsibilities
  • Supervise children and promote learning opportunities in conjunction with the Site Director.
  • Assist the Site Director in planning and implementing a holistic curriculum that reflects Y values.
  • Role model acceptable behaviors and decision-making for participants and peers.
  • Actively participate in all related in-services, trainings, and activities.
  • Utilize guidance and developmental techniques to create a safe and orderly environment.
  • Provide substitute coverage to other sites as needed.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • At least 2 years of experience working with school-age children.
  • First Aid/CPR/AED certifications or willingness to obtain within 60 days.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct critical problem-solving independently.
  • Knowledge of child development techniques.
  • Leadership competencies: Values, Influence, Decision Making, and Emotional Intelligence.
Work Environment

This position requires regular sitting, standing, and moving around the work environment. The noise level may vary based on external factors.

$45,000 - $55,000 per year (estimated salary range).
