Job Title: Specimen Management Consultant

The Specimen Management Consultant is a key role within BD, responsible for driving the growth of our Specimen Management product portfolio. This individual will be the primary point of contact for hospitals, health systems, and reference laboratories, providing expert guidance and support to ensure seamless specimen management and patient safety.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute sales strategies to drive growth and market share for BD's Specimen Management products
  • Conduct daily sales calls to introduce novel solutions to customers, leveraging clinical insights and quality products to drive adoption
  • Develop new business markets and opportunities, identifying and pursuing key accounts and partnerships
  • Actively seek to convert accounts using competitive products, providing education and support to ensure successful adoption
  • Collaborate with BD customer-facing associates and distribution partners to support customer growth and retention activities
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree (BA or BS) from a four-year college or university; MBA a plus
  • 3-5+ years experience as a medical device sales professional, with a proven track record of success in sales and customer engagement
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills, with the ability to assess and respond to customer needs
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, with a strong focus on sales and customer satisfaction
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and familiarity with Salesforce software
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience calling on Infection Prevention, Med/Surg, Occupational Health, Nursing, OR, and Lab
  • Experience selling on value in a medical sales capacity, with a strong understanding of the Specimen Management market
  • Experience maintaining Integrated Business Plans (IBPs) to ensure attainment of territory goals
  • Former clinical experience preferred, with a strong understanding of the healthcare industry and patient safety
