Job DescriptionJob Description Phlebotomist OpportunityResponsibilities
  • Collect and store specimens following established procedures.
  • Explain venipuncture and other specimen collection processes to patients clearly and courteously.
  • Demonstrate techniques using straight or butterfly needles.
  • Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes.
  • Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test orders.
  • Verify test requisitions or computer labels against scripts for 100% accuracy.
  • Package specimens for transport.
  • Store specimen samples at the required temperature and in appropriate containers/tubes.
  • Accurately label specimens and follow specific protocols.
  • Answer phone calls and provide laboratory results to inquiries.
Essential Skills
  • Phlebotomy
  • Customer service skills
  • 2+ years of experience (1+ year in a hospital setting)
  • Minimum of 6 months experience in specimen processing, using butterfly needles, and performing phlebotomy
  • Data entry skills

Work Environment:
  • Fertility Clinic
  • Monday - Friday: 7:30am-3:30pm
  • Saturday: 8:00am-11:00am
