Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage drug therapy protocols as part of an interdisciplinary healthcare team.
  • Review, interpret, and assess medication orders to identify, prevent, and resolve potential or actual drug-related issues.
  • Provide drug information and education to medical staff, healthcare professionals, patients, and pharmacy students.
  • Document interventions and their outcomes to enhance drug therapy quality improvement initiatives.
  • Evaluate medication orders for accuracy and completeness prior to order entry, ensuring checks for accuracy post-filling by technicians.
  • Maintain proficiency in pharmacy automated systems and software.
  • Coordinate and deliver pharmaceutical care to patients.
Reporting Structure:
This position reports directly to the Director of Pharmacy.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy is required.
  • Doctor of Pharmacy is preferred.
Required Skills:
Possess critical thinking abilities, decisive judgment, and the capacity to work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to function effectively in a high-pressure environment and take appropriate actions as necessary.

Licensure:
Must hold a valid State of Tennessee Pharmacist license.

Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) from an accredited organization is required within a specified timeframe if not current upon hire.
