Position Overview

The Marketplace Enrollment Specialist is tasked with the recruitment of individuals for State and Individual Marketplace healthcare plans. This role involves conducting enrollment interviews and assisting in the completion of recertification or approved applications for the State/Marketplace. The Specialist must adhere to all marketing guidelines, ensuring that applications are free of errors and comply with enrollment regulations.

This position requires the development and management of a designated territory through the implementation of effective sales strategies to achieve set sales targets across all product lines.

The Specialist will collaborate with community organizations to enhance outreach efforts aimed at uninsured populations. A flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends, is essential for this role.

Qualifications

A High School diploma or GED is mandatory.


A minimum of three (3) years of demonstrated sales experience or community engagement related to benefits, including managed care and state products, is required.

Certification by NYSOH to enroll members on the NYS Healthcare Exchange must be obtained within one month of hire.

Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential for effective interaction with members, management, and community partners. Bilingual candidates are preferred.

Local travel is necessary; candidates must possess reliable transportation.

All associates using a vehicle for work must comply with State Motor Vehicle laws and adhere to the Policy regarding Driver's License Requirements as a condition of employment.


Ability to comprehend compliance policies and procedures and to implement all necessary compliance sales and marketing requirements is crucial.


Experience in managing client relationships and community connections, with the capacity to represent the Independent Health brand and its core values, is essential.

Candidates should demonstrate initiative, creativity, and self-motivation.


Independent work habits and organizational skills are necessary to manage and track sales leads effectively, ensuring sales goals are met or exceeded.

Excellent time management skills are required to balance external and internal responsibilities.

Experience in public speaking and conducting presentations to both groups and individuals is necessary. The ability to engage one-on-one with prospective customers to understand their needs and successfully close sales is vital.

Building relationships with prospective and existing customers is essential to provide an outstanding customer experience. Candidates should exhibit compassion and sound judgment in member interactions.

Collaboration within a team-oriented sales environment is important to contribute to the achievement of established sales goals.

Proficiency in internet usage, PC skills, and Windows applications is required, along with the ability to quickly learn and utilize web-based sales lead generation tools.

Commitment to working required holidays, weekends, and extended hours is expected.

Key Responsibilities

External Recruitment

Successfully complete NYS facilitated enroller training in accordance with NYSDOH standards.

Conduct interviews with prospective applicants, gather necessary documentation, and complete state applications while ensuring 100% compliance with NYSDOH facilitated enrollment guidelines.


Generate new sales by preparing and presenting information about NYS products to prospects at community agencies, provider sites, businesses, and approved locations.

Build and maintain relationships with community organizations to establish a consistent onsite presence.

Participate in community events to generate leads.

Achieve sales through territory development to meet established monthly sales targets and performance metrics.

Develop and execute marketing strategies for the assigned territory, reviewing monthly progress with sales supervisors and directors.

Complete weekly marketing reports and provide enrollment statistics to supervisors.

Technical Proficiency

Maintain technical knowledge regarding Independent Health's contracts, benefits, policies, and procedures. Attend sales training and regulatory sessions to enhance skills. Demonstrate proficiency in all systems necessary for the role.

Standard:

The Marketplace Enrollment Specialist will meet accuracy and quality metrics and demonstrate proficiency with all required systems, achieving an 85% passing score on all training assessments.

Immigration or work visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Compensation:
$26.50 hourly + Sales Incentive

Compensation may vary based on skills, education, location, and experience.


In addition to base compensation, associates may be eligible for scorecard incentives, a comprehensive benefits package, and generous paid time off.

The base salary range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
