Position Overview: Medical Billing Customer Service Specialist
Join a leading organization in the healthcare sector, dedicated to enhancing the quality of radiology services. As a vital member of our Revenue Cycle Management team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring efficient billing processes and excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage incoming calls from patients and insurance representatives, providing exceptional customer support.
- Assist in processing payments, resolving billing disputes, and filing medical claims accurately.
- Utilize online payer systems to verify claim statuses and eligibility as required.
- Handle correspondence and returned mail to ensure timely responses to patient and insurance inquiries.
- Meet productivity goals and deadlines established by the Accounts Receivable Supervisor.
- Professionally manage escalated calls and address complex issues.
- Participate in additional Accounts Receivable projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
Required Skills: Proven experience in telephone customer service, ability to handle multiple phone lines, and manage high call volumes. Proficient in computer systems with strong verbal and written communication skills. Attention to detail, multitasking abilities, sound judgment, and the capacity to work independently or collaboratively are essential.
Preferred Experience: Previous call center experience and familiarity with medical billing or terminology, along with a basic understanding of insurance claim processes.
Education: High School diploma or equivalent experience.
Work Environment: This role involves primarily sitting and engaging in high-volume telephone customer service. It is an in-office position.
