Utilizes specialized knowledge to uphold, assess, troubleshoot, install, and repair intricate machinery and equipment in line with established manufacturing protocols to ensure efficiency, quality, and optimal production goals.

The responsibilities encompass a range of skilled trades including, but not limited to, production and facility machinery, electronics, automation, HVAC, plumbing, and carpentry.

Capable of installing, diagnosing, and repairing most or all equipment within the facility.

Daily Responsibilities:
Adhere to and strive to meet Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) related to safety, quality, production, efficiency, and service standards.

Implement practices aimed at delivering safe products that comply with relevant laws and regulations while meeting company quality benchmarks.

Commit to safety and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
Install, diagnose, analyze, maintain, modify, repair, and/or rebuild a variety of complex and specialized plant and facility equipment.
Conduct root cause analysis and propose solutions.

Advise on work procedures, assess experimental methods, and suggest modifications for enhanced efficiency and adaptability in setup and production.

Apply advanced troubleshooting techniques.
Lead initiatives for process improvement and/or cross-functional team projects.
Comprehend precedence relationships (e.g., sequence of events).
May undertake one or more of the following duties within production or facilities maintenance:

Diagnose and rectify complex machinery and electrical issues, including interlinked components on the same production line, assembly mechanisms, or automated control systems.

Analyze control systems to troubleshoot software/hardware and configuration issues.
Engage with operators to identify equipment problems and determine whether mechanical or human error contributed to the issues.
Design, assemble, install, and maintain piping systems and associated hydraulic and pneumatic equipment. Repair and replace gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related apparatus.
Assist machinists/fabricators in creating parts.
Interpret blueprints, drawings, sketches, and work orders to plan, layout, and execute tasks.
Install, maintain, and repair equipment, machinery, physical structures, and plumbing/electrical systems.

Utilize tools ranging from common hand tools and power tools to precision measuring instruments and electrical devices.

Operate Powered Industrial Trucks (PIT), hoists, cranes, and aerial lifts.

Inspect, operate, or test malfunctioning machinery, equipment, programmable controllers, and motors to diagnose issues, employing test equipment or software, and apply knowledge of machinery operations.

Support production personnel during changeovers and setups.
Leverage predictive maintenance technologies to gather equipment performance data.

Execute preventive maintenance tasks, such as checking, cleaning, or repairing equipment to identify and avert issues, ensuring smooth and efficient machine operation.

Maintain accurate records for assignments, machine repairs, parts inventory, and maintenance logs.

Understand and utilize SAP Preventive Maintenance (PM) and Work Order Process, production schedules, reports, HMI control panels, and machine settings.

Prioritize work assignments to ensure efficiency and adherence to production schedules.
Train other Maintenance Mechanics as necessary.
Fill in for Lead Maintenance Mechanic as required.

Core Skills and Qualifications:
The ideal candidate must possess all of the following:
Seven (7) years of experience in preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repair, or equivalent experience with trade school or training.

Five (5) years of experience in diagnosing and repairing electrical equipment or machinery, or equivalent experience with trade school or training.

Expertise in the use of hand tools and power tools.
Prior experience with plant production software is required.
Thorough understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC).
Ability to conduct root cause analysis, compare and investigate information, and recommend and implement solutions.
Proven analytical problem-solving skills.
Ability to effectively manage and execute multiple tasks, projects, and priorities.
Proficient in computer interfacing.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills necessary to convey intricate job-related processes.
Organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize workload to meet deadlines.
Ability to utilize and instruct employees on technology, processes, and procedures.
Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Familiarity with converting decimals to fractions or vice versa.

Expert mechanical aptitude and capability to troubleshoot complex issues, including knowledge of machines and tools, their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.

Expertise in pneumatics, hydraulics, temperature, and pressure gauges.
Understanding of manufacturing processes and ability to inspect and repair or replace components.
Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, manuals, and mechanical and electrical schematics.

Experience with Microsoft Office, including the ability to modify basic reports, documents, and spreadsheets in MS Word and MS Excel.

Experience operating test equipment and/or software.
Ability to operate Powered Industrial Trucks (PIT), hoists, and cranes, and maintain PIT certification.

Demonstration of minimum proficiency with the English language to ensure effective training and ongoing communication regarding safety and quality issues.


Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
Experience in paper converting, chemical/plastics processing, and/or packaging industries.

Vocational, Technical, or Associate Degree in Machine Tool, Machine Maintenance, Industrial Electrician, Electro-Mechanics, Mechatronics Technology, Automation Controls, Robotics, or a related field.

SAP experience.
