Position Overview:
The Industrial Maintenance Specialist is accountable for comprehensive plant upkeep, including electrical systems, troubleshooting, and equipment repair. This role also encompasses construction tasks, maintenance of facilities, and various general maintenance responsibilities as assigned. Additionally, this position provides essential support to production operators, assisting in the management of all production phases, from raw material intake to finished goods distribution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Acquire and execute all production-related tasks, including receiving, shipping, line operation, parameter adjustments, lab testing, packaging, bulk loadout, and inventory oversight.
- Conduct preventative maintenance and address maintenance and electrical tasks as required.
- Lead and perform both minor and major maintenance operations.
- Install, fabricate, modify, troubleshoot, repair, adjust, calibrate, verify, certify, test, and operate high and low voltage power systems, substations, power panels, and various electrical/electronic equipment.
- Work on subsystem assemblies, PLCs, relays, protective devices, and other mechanical components.
- Understand and comply with food safety protocols.
- Coordinate with external contractors as necessary.
- Manage maintenance activities requiring production downtime in collaboration with the production manager.
- Troubleshoot and resolve electrical and mechanical issues.
- Maintain precise documentation through log sheets and reports.
- Order maintenance repair parts and supplies, and manage the maintenance stockroom.
- Participate in the upkeep of facility grounds and buildings.
- Train fellow employees on proper manufacturing procedures.
- Ensure a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all safety regulations and quality standards.
- Exhibit a positive attitude and reliability in all tasks.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent is required, with additional education preferred. Candidates should possess a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in maintaining industrial equipment, moderate computer skills, and at least 1 year of forklift operation experience. Continuous Improvement/Kaizen experience is highly desirable.
Special Skills:
- Ability to operate production and warehousing equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Effective oral and written communication abilities.
- Capability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and electrical schematics.
- Familiarity with single and three-phase electrical systems.
- PLC experience is a plus.
